Job Details
Duties
- Providing leadership in research, training and service in health leadership and management;
- Initiating and supervising research in health leadership and management;
- Sustaining and growing postgraduate training in health leadership and management;
- Advising and contributing to teaching of health leadership and management in undergraduate curricula for health sciences students;
- Organising CPD activities and seminars in topics relevant to health leadership and management;
- Securing funding to support research, training and service in health leadership and management;
- Engaging with provincial, national and international stakeholders in health leadership and management.
Job Requirements
- Public Health specialisation (MMed, FCPHM or equivalent), or a Master’s degree in Health Systems, Health Management or Public Health with relevant experience (in health leadership and management);
- National and international recognition in health leadership and management;
- Expertise and experience in postgraduate training and supervision of health leadership and management, and health systems strengthening;
- Experience in conducting health systems or operational research;
- Management experience in an academic/research environment, as well as project management skills;
- Strong leadership, communication as well as networking skills.A valid driver’s licence and willingness and availability to travel.
Recommendation
- PhD in Public Health, Health Management or relevant related area;
- Experience in liaising with high-level stakeholders in government;
- Collaboration with leading national and international health systems and management and leadership research organisations;
- Publications in high impact journals;
- An interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving;
- Experience in organising scientific and educational activities in the field of health leadership and management, and research in health systems and services.
