Job Details
Monoclonal antibodies (mAb) are now established as effective treatments for a number of cancers albeit with considerable potential for further improvement. The University of Southampton has a strong track record in basic and translational immunology including development of therapeutic mAb.
Immunostimulatory mAb invigorate the activity of anti-cancer T-cells, thus promoting long lasting T cell-mediated control of tumour growth. This project will evaluate a novel target for immunostimulatory mAb. The work will focus on assessing the effects of a panel of newly developed mAb on human T cell responses in vitro and will be based in the recently opened Centre for Cancer Immunology.
You will be motivated, educated in a relevant subject area and have practical laboratory experience. Ideally you will have research experience in standard biochemical, cell-biological or immunological techniques and hold a Bachelor’s Degree, Higher BTEC or equivalent.
The position is full-time and fixed term for 18 months in the first instance with the possibility of extension.
Informal queries should be directed to Professor Aymen Al-Shamkhani (aymen@soton.ac.uk).
