Job Purpose

To develop a new type of solid oxide fuel cell that can operate below 350C. The applicant will prepare and characterise a range of electrode and electrolyte materials in order to examine their suitability for operation in a low temperature solid oxide fuel cell

 

Person Specification

  • First degree in Chemistry is essential
  • Experience in Solid State Chemistry Synthesis techniques, X-ray powder diffraction, Rietveld refinement are essential
  • Experience in the characterisation of battery or fuel cell/electrolyser materials is essential
  • Experience of research into the synthesis and characterisation of new inorganic solid state materials is essential

 

Salary

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £26,495 to £28,936. With potential progression once in post to £32,548 a year. 

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £29,799 to £38,832. With potential progression once in post to £41,212 a year.
