Job Details

The strategic sourcing and procurement service plays an important role in supporting colleagues in procuring a diverse range of goods, services and works, which are critical to the successful operation of the University. As a Buying and Administrative Assistant you will support the cost efficient and timely sourcing of goods and services, to deliver maximum value for money and benefit to the University. You will be working with external suppliers and internal stakeholders across the University.
The Higher Education sector is changing and so is our service provision, we are reorganising to ensure our buying processes reflect the University’s strategy by embedding a category managed approach aligned with strong commercial contract and supplier management, delivering value for money through high quality arrangements. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for providing straight forward advice and administrative support to colleagues with their sourcing requirements.
You should be able to efficiently organise your work activities, present a calm and professional manner with excellent interpersonal skills, and actively support the team’s strategic objective of ‘Simply Better’. Please see the job specification for full role details.
