Job Details

The School of Biochemistry is seeking to enhance its educational capacity by recruiting a Senior Teaching Fellow and a Teaching Fellow with a focus on delivering outstanding teaching and contributing to the design and delivery of an excellent educational experience in the School.

We are looking to appoint energetic and committed teachers who are dedicated to bringing out the best in students and to instilling their love of the subject in them. You will be joining a School with an excellent reputation for its teaching provision. In the most recent National Student Survey (NSS 2016/17), students studying a BSc in Biochemistry reported a 96% overall satisfaction rate.

You will lecture on and teach in practical classes, tutorials (small and large group) and workshops across undergraduate biochemistry and will contribute to the design of courses, using innovative teaching methods and material, including e-learning. The School is at the forefront of eLearning initiatives through the development of eBiolabs, a Dynamic Laboratory Manual that supports laboratory and tutorial-based learning.

The Senior Teaching Fellow role will be expected to take on a substantial leadership role in teaching and learning within the School so an interest in promoting pedagogic best practice and excellence in education to improve the student experience is encouraged.

Both posts are open ended with fixed term funding of five years in the first instance.
