Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. The Department has 115 full-time and part-time faculty with a strong commitment towards teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency and fellowship programmes are integrated into the academic functions of the department.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor / Assistant Professor, Cardiothoracic.

 

Responsibilities

Candidates will be expected to have independent consultant status and undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and specified administrative activities. 

 

Requirements

You should have completed postgraduate training and possess FCPS, FRCS, American Board or equivalent with subsequent clinical, teaching and research experience. Applicants for Senior Instructor require at least two years’ experience in a reputable institution, while those for Assistant Professor should have at least three years of experience. In addition, you should have demonstrated scholarship through research, publications and/or contribution to education.
