Intrabas Financial Controller (post level 11/10) (contract appointment: 9 months)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with the setting of the annual Increasing the Throughput Rate of African Black Accounting Students (Intrabas) budget.
  • Develop a payment schedule according to the activities performed.
  • Prepare the payment templates to Intrabas bursary holders and support programme participants.
  • Request the payments of allowances to students and landlords.
  • Prepare invoices to be presented to Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Fasset).
  • Present invoices to Fasset with supporting documents.
  • Verify the transfer to students, payments to landlords and the General Ledger expenses.
  • Provide monthly financial report on all programmes.
  • Assist with student enquiries.
  • Handle any other reasonable request that the programme manager may have.
  •  

    Inherent requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in financial administration.
  •  

    Required competencies:

    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s richly diverse working environment.
    • Advance computer skills in MS Office.

     

    Recommendations:

    • Financial administration experience in the Higher Education environment.

     

    Assumption of duties:

    1 August 2018.

    Salary:
