Are you a skilled technician with a background in engineering?

Would you like to be part of a team providing technical support to research and teaching in a top Physics department?

You will operate the School Cryogenics Facility to produce liquid helium, manage the delivery and use of liquid nitrogen and provide technical support to the School.

You will work closely with academic and research staff and students within the Condensed Matter Physics Group and with technical staff including the Cryogenics Facility Manager and Mechanical Workshop Technicians.

You will be required to undertake some heavy lifting and have a full, current, valid driving licence (needed for moving equipment around the campus). With an engineering background, you should be adaptable and willing to take on new challenges. You should also possess good interpersonal skills, be a team player and enjoy working in an academic environment.
