Job Details
The University is embarking on a number of ICT transformation programmes which will result in multiple programmes and projects over a four year period. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a project manager to be part of the ICT transformation programme. This role will be responsible for the planning and organisation of a range of complex activities required for the projects, risk management and project deliverables and products.
We are looking for a strong ICT Project Manager to work in dynamic, collaborative teams, engaging closely with stakeholders and end users from across the University. Proven experience of managing and delivering significant enterprise ICT projects (custom software development, infrastructure/services and process improvements) in a rigorous quality regime is required. A background in managing agile projects would be beneficial.
You will need to be a highly self-motivated with the ability to work collegiately at many levels within the University.You will be competent in preparing and presenting all types of project and program documentation; an essential element of all projects and programs and key in reporting, to include but not limited to;
• Business cases
• Feasibility studies
• Project Briefs
• Project Initiation Documents
• Project plans
• Resource trackers
• Financial summaries
• Issues and risks
• Governance reports and slide packs
Your excellent communication skills will enable you to manage and maintain strong relationships across iSolutions Teams and the University Community. You be will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered to time, budget and quality.
iSolutions is one of the largest departments within the University’s Professional Services Group (circa 300 staff) and provides all aspects of ICT to support all University activities including Learning and Teaching, Research and University Administration whilst supporting a diverse user community of over 35,000 University staff and students. Largely based at 1 Guildhall Square, in the centre of Southampton in modern office accommodation which benefits from excellent links via rail and road. Travel between all campuses will be required on a regular basis.
