Network Engineer

The i2CAT Foundation is a research and innovation centre which promotes mission-oriented R+D+i activities on advanced Internet architectures, applications and services. The centre stands up for a new open innovation framework, fostering the collaboration between companies, public administration, the academic environment and end-users. 

i2CAT has a wide experience in multiple national and European R+D+i projects, leading research lines in new fixed & mobile network architectures, wireless sensor networks, and content-based multimedia technologies.

Within that environment, our Software Networks team is dedicated to the research, development and innovation on Software Defined Networks (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and Cloud technologies, in order to add value and to offer new tools and technologies to promote the adoption of new business models and the development of ICT sector. The group holds expertise in development of network control and management software, service orchestrators for enabling dynamic and rapid service provisioning (from development to deployment) over cross-domain SDN/NFV based environments.

Our team is also a relevant player in the European 5G research ecosystem and participates as partners or subcontractors in other R&D projects. Our department also offers professional services to relevant industry partners.

The Software Networks area is seeking a NETWORK ENGINEER for R&D projects to work on the design, planning and execution of R + I + D activities and to support on-going activities related to Cloud and SDN Software & Tools, such as OpenStack,

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and hands on experience in SDN, NFV, or Cloud technologies. The candidate will support technical/development activities within on-going 5G projects.
