The University of Queensland Library

The Library is integral to achieving world-class scholarship at The University of Queensland.  The Library’s staff work in partnership with the academic and health community to provide convenient access to quality information, and to manage and provide access to UQ scholarship.  The Library provides information services that are customisable to individual needs and which recognise disciplinary perspectives and their information requirements.  The Library engages with the community to foster scholarship and strengthens the culture of collaboration and partnership within the University.

 

The role

This is a leadership and management role within the University of Queensland Library. The primary purpose of the role involves the management and supervision of the liaison librarians in the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health and Behavourial Sciences as well as providing a range of library services to hospital only staff in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), and the Mater Hospitals. This includes managing and coordinating: the provision of services to support UQ teaching, learning and research; the provision of library services to support hospital clients.

 

The position also involves taking a leadership role in the University of Queensland Library, collaborating with other Library units and relevant external partners to implement the mission of The University of Queensland Library.

 

The person

Applicants should possess postgraduate qualifications, recognized professional library qualifications with extensive relevant experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and/or education/training in a health related area.  In addition they should have excellent communication coupled with high level interpersonal skills, underpinning the ability to negotiate, advise and liaise with staff, management and clients at all levels.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $ 92,811.16 - $ 104,214.40 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 00% (total package will be in the range $108,589.06 - $121,930.85 p.a.).
