Simulator Facility Manager

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to lead the operation and growth of the most advanced driving and pedestrian simulators in the UK?

The Simulator Facility Manager is primarily responsible for the technical and operational management of the University of Leeds driving and pedestrian simulators. The postholder requires a strategic vision to ensure backwards compatibility of the simulator whilst driving forward a vision of ongoing development and innovation required of a world-leading research facility. The postholder must define and implement suitable software development processes whilst also meeting required research standards in terms of data handling, backup policy along with successfully managing a complex PC network. The role also requires a dedication to support both external and internally funded research to ensure efficient use of the simulator as a resource. The post requires an MSc or PhD in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience, a high level of specialised knowledge and skills in both visual simulation and research techniques. There is a need to provide innovative solutions for simulator development as well as to interpret and implement the needs of simulator users.
