Working with the Chief Marketing and Communication Officer, and the University’s senior leadership team, the Deputy Director, Communication is a new position established to take a whole-of-organisation approach to how UQ enhances its reputation and relationship with its many diverse stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include developing and leading a University-wide communication program focused on supporting the organisation’s strategic priorities and stakeholder engagement efforts; aligning work programs across the University; and rolling out a content strategy that builds UQ’s profile and supports a coherent understanding of its brand and achievements.

UQ is seeking an experienced corporate communication leader looking for a challenging opportunity to apply their transformation and best-practice skills in a large and complex organisation. Innovative thinking and leadership in stakeholder engagement, content management, digital communication, media management and social media will be critical for success in this role. The ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and drive a high-performance, service-oriented culture in line with the University values and leadership capability expectations is also vital.

This position is full-time, fixed-term, for five years. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
