We are looking for high calibre candidates with experience of global health research and/or health-related research in an NHS, social care or public health setting or health research management to join our teams managing NIHR research programmes. Vacancies currently exist in the team managing our infrastructure contracts funded through the NIHR Global Health Research programme. Successful candidates will be placed on best fit to meet business area requirements, and will be supported to move around the organisation to meet business and personal development needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated individuals to work in an intellectually challenging area of health research management. As a Research Manager you will manage a substantial portfolio NIHR global health research contracts, and contribute to strategic development of the portfolio working closely with the Department for Health and Social Care. You will be capable of prioritising your own workload and using your initiative to lead on improvements to working practices. You must be able to understand, rationalise and communicate complex problems or issues and take or recommend appropriate action.

You should have excellent writing, analytical and record-keeping skills supported by sound administrative experience, an understanding of medical and scientific literature, and an awareness of applied health research in the UK and internationally. You will be joining an enthusiastic and cohesive team who are committed to adding maximum value to the management of health research. Some remote working could be considered on an individual basis, depending on team roles, locations and logistics.
