Formulation Scientist - Pharma Company

NonStop pharma is looking for a Lead Formulation Scientist of Drug Products for Inhalation to take part of the CMC department within a Pharmaceutical Company.

Main responsibility is to ensure the pharmaceutical development (formulation and process) of
Drug Products for inhalation, from the candidate selection for the clinical phase to the full development phase, registration and market launch.

Main activities:

To define and to develop new formulations from pre-formulation activities in laboratory up to final market formulation, including process development
To ensure the integration between the formulation and the analytical activities
To identify the drug substance and drug product critical quality attributes and the definition of the acceptance criteria, including the evaluation of the interaction with contact materials i.e. primary and secondary packaging as well as any device used for the administration, and design the suitable process for the target product
To participate in the inter-disciplinary technical teams and collaborate to the risk management activities, identifying the project risks and building mitigation actions and contingency plans
To manage the interaction with external laboratories and CROs/CMO involved in the product development
To plan development process in terms of cost and deliverables
To ensure the drug product process development in order to support the pre-clinical and clinical development, scale up at pilot and industrial level
Promote continuous improvement of formulation helping in finding innovative solutions
Coordinate technical staff activities in order to ensure activities completion

Main requirements:

At least 2-5 years of experience within pharmaceutical development of different dosage forms, mainly for the development of inhalation product (DPI, pMDI, nebulized products)
Good knowledge of process development;
Good knowledge of solid state and physical properties;
Basic knowledge of inhalation devices;
Experience in the powers process and formulation;
Experience in particle size reduction processes (jet milling, particle engineering);
Excellent knowledge of English
