Job Details

We are looking to appoint a Public Engagement Associate to work between the Elizabeth Blackwell Institute (EBI) for Health Research and the University’s Public Engagement team.

The main purpose of the role will be to work with academics across different disciplines to raise awareness of good public engagement; provide advice and fund-raise for activities; ensure access to appropriate training; promote best practice in public engagement; champion the success of different engagement activities and evaluation; and to manage and implement the EBI’s own Public Engagement objectives and activities.

The Associate has the exciting opportunity to shape and implement a programme of public engagement activity, as well as working with researchers across the University to ensure engagement work is high quality and appropriate. They will collaborate with a wide range of researchers working on health and wellbeing research that spans all disciplines as well as building partnerships with cultural, arts and community partners across the city.


The successful candidate will have proven experience developing, managing and evaluating projects from inception to completion, as well as a solid understanding of the different approaches and methods of engaging public with research and a passion for engagement.


The post is offered on a part-time basis, 0.6 FTE, on a fixed-term contract until 30 September 2021.
