We are looking for an Occupational Health Manager specialist with an occupational health nurse background to join our team of health and safety professionals. The post is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of occupational health referrals to identify and support the management of work related health hazards, including the provision of advice and guidance to line managers to ensure that the University maintains its compliance with applicable regulations.

The role will also oversee and ensure good standards of practice from the University external Occupational Health provider including the coordination of a suitable and sufficient health surveillance programme.

You will be a good communicator and take a proactive approach to promoting work related occupational health issues including the provision of awareness events and training to key stakeholders.  

As the Occupational Health specialist, the role will contribute to the portfolio of the Health and Wellbeing team and will provide a key service to the University staff and student support activities.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing occupational health compliance in a range of topic areas in a large complex organisation such as higher education and/or research sectors or similar environments. You will be a qualified nurse with post registration experience of providing screening and occupational health advice and undertaking triage services. Applications will be considered for job share.
