We are looking for passionate and dedicated young investigators to development studies in "Taxonomy and Distribution of ticks of genus Amblyomma"
The project will be developed at the Center for Research and Technological Development in Laboratories - Cepetec-Labs da Sucen in the city of São Paulo, SP.
The project has three objectives: 1 - To evaluate in a comparative way the morphological structure of the larval stage of all species of genus Amblyomma ticks with occurrence reported in Brazil, with the purpose of produce a morphological, dichotomous and pictorial identification key; 2 - Amplify through molecular techniques and thereafter genomically sequencing fragments of the genes with major importance for phylogenetic and molecular identification of all species of the genus Amblyomma reported in Brazil, with the aim of produce a gen bank that can be made available to all scientific community and used to identify species of this genus; 3 - To evaluate the presence and distribution of all tick species of Amblyomma genus reported to  the State of São Paulo in order to prepare a acarological chart for this genus for the State. In order to do so, the Fellow must make partnerships and analyze the main ixodological collections of the State, furthermore, to carry out  field expeditions to collect specimens for data validation whenever necessary.

The project will be funded by São Paulo Research Foundation – FAPESP (www.fapesp.br/en), through its Young Investigator Award Program (http://fapesp.br/en/4479). The award will be provided as a Research Grant with the maximum duration of 48 months. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Young Investigator Fellowship in the amount of R$ 8.152,20 monthly free of Income Taxes. The peer reviewed project of the selected Young Investigator may receive a Research Grant as described in http://fapesp.br/en/4479.

To be an established researcher and to have experience of at least five years within the research filed as described previusly.
