Job Details
The IZ mission is to develop and transfer technologies and inputs for assessing and enhancing the sustainability of animal production systems, seeking technological innovations to promote the productivity, quality and diversity of production. The IZ Research Centers are provided with excellent infrastructure for the development of researches in partnership with public and private institutions and provide services and training of human resources.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated young investigator interested in developing research in ruminant nutrition with emphasis on in vitro systems. The São Paulo Research Foundation-FAPESP PDIP Project (2017/50339-5), coordinated by Dr. Renata H. Branco Arnandes, will be funded FAPESP (www.fapesp.br/en), through its Young Investigator Award Program (http://www.fapesp.br/en/4479).
The award will be provided as a Research Grant with the maximum duration of 48 months. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Young Investigator Fellowship in the amount of BRL 8.152,20 monthly free of Income Taxes. The peer reviewed project of the selected Young Investigator may receive a Research Grant as described in (http://www.fapesp.br/en/4479).
4. Position summary and required experience
4.1. Position summary and expected research focus
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated young investigator interested in developing research related to the effects of different levels of ruminal undegraded protein in beef cattle diets and on the establishment of in vitro systems (Dual-flow continuous culture and Gas production) for ruminants’ nutrition studies. In addition, the young investigator should collaborate with other researchers on projects in development, write and review scientific papers of the research group, assist in the orientation and co-orientation of students, and work on activities related to technology and knowledge transfer.
4.2. Profile and required skills
- PhD in Animal Science or related areas
- Post-Doctoral experience in Ruminant Nutrition.
- International experience (research project conducted abroad – minimum of 12 months).
- Hands-on experience in:
- Dual flow continuous culture systems;
- In vitro gas production systems;
- Omasal sampling;
- In situ techniques;
- Statistical analysis.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team are essential and well appreciated. Robust publication of the scientific results in international prestigious Journals with well-defined and selective editorial process is strongly valued in the selection process.
