The role

The successful appointees will be responsible for formulating and implementing strategies to meet the Centre’s network management, data analytics, and interaction design research objectives. The successful appointees will have access to the centre’s Redback Technologies facilities at Long Pocket and hardware/software laboratories of the School of Information Technology & Electrical Engineeringy at the University of Queensland.

There are opportunities to work with the other staff of the centre and staff of Redback Technologies, University of Queensland researchers and industry partners.

 

The person(s)

Depending on the discipline appropriate for the position, applicants should possess a PhD either in  Electrical Engineering or in Computer Science or in Human-Computer Interaction.

Power and Energy Systems: You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in the field of low voltage distribution power network analyses and control including renewable generation integration.

Advanced data analytics: You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in the field of large-scale and distributed data management, advanced data analytics, data mining or applied statistics.

Interaction Design: You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in the field of Design of interactive information visualisations for big data and in-situ prototyping and fieldwork-based research methods.

Ability to successfully lead a research team to deliver outputs to industry and outstanding effective communication and interpersonal skills is essential. Experience with working in a multidisciplinary research team and in liaising and collaborating with external agencies and industry to develop research initiatives will be highly regarded.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 3 years at Academic level C. The remuneration package will be in the range $112,874 - $130,150 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $132,063 - $152,276 p.a.).
