If you are passionate about ensuring students get the best support during their time at University then we want to hear from you. The enthusiasm for working as part of a team is essential to provide the right support for our students. This approach underpins the work that Enabling Services delivers on a day to day basis. Two full time opportunities have arisen to join our customer service team, which is the first point of contact for students who need additional support at University. 

Enabling Services offer support, advice and guidance to all students with disabilities, mental health conditions, specific learning difficulties, and on-going health conditions, together with crisis and counselling services for all students. 

 

To provide the best support to our students the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills during application and interview:

  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Significant experience of customer service
  • Ability to positively contribute to teamwork, as well as the confidence to work independently
  • A proactive approach

 

Enabling Services is based in a large open plan office, and is one of the services within Student Services at the University. Services offered by Student Services range from the Early Years Centre, providing a childcare facility for children up to the age of 5, to our Student Life team, our out-of-hours support for students, as well as Sport & Wellbeing who offer some of the biggest and best leisure facilities in the area.  To find out more about the work of Student Services please visit our website www.southampton.ac.uk/studentservices

Please note, being able to work flexibly is a requirement as you will be part of a rota that operates from 8am–6pm across weekdays and occasional weekend working is required for Open Days, Arrivals weekend and Enabling Services Transition Days.
