Job Details

We are looking to recruit a talented and able researcher with expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative research to work on a Department of Health and Social Care funded project to evaluate patient access to medical test result services in General Practice in England.

Patients are increasingly being offered the opportunity to access their medical test results electronically through online access.  This could benefit both patients and GP practices, by patients being able to access the information they want more quickly and reducing appointments for practices.  However, it could also cause problems, if for example patients are anxious about receiving results at home or are unclear what they should do with their results.  More evidence is required to fully understand what the consequences (both benefits and problems) could be for patients and practices – to do this you will be working with a multi-disciplinary research team to undertake a mixed methods realist evaluation of patient access to online test results.  You will have responsibility for planning, conducting, analysing and writing up this research under the direction of Dr Hannah Christensen and Dr Gemma Lasseter.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please direct informal queries to Hannah Christensen, Hannah.Christensen@bristol.ac.uk, or Gemma Lasseter, Gemma.Lasseter@bristol.ac.uk

The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture.  We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
