Fire and Air Quality Scientist
Position Description: The Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at North Carolina State University invites motivated, innovative scientists to apply for a 1.0 FTE, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Wildland Fire Science and Air Quality. The position is approximately 45:45:10 research, teaching and service.
Qualifications. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in one of the following areas: Engineering, Fire Science, Fire-Atmosphere Interactions, Smoke Emissions & Air Quality, or other closely related field.
Research Responsibilities:
The candidate will participate in interdisciplinary research programs at NCSU and within the College of Natural Resources.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities are negotiable, but may include two undergraduate courses in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology and Management, and/or Natural Resources curricula, such as: Air Quality Monitoring, Fire and Emissions Modeling, and an Environmental Science senior capstone course. The candidate will also teach a graduate course in their area of specialty.
