School of Veterinary Science

The School of Veterinary Science has a rich history having been founded in 1936 and has a reputation for graduating self reliant, independent and highly capable veterinarians with plenty of initiative and drive. The School has superb facilities at the UQ Gatton Campus, providing the teaching, research and clinical infrastructure and resources to develop its strong reputation as a leading provider of veterinary training, research and clinical care. The school also maintains a small animal hospital and large animal clinic at Dayboro, north-west of Brisbane.
 

The role

Commencing in Jan 2019, in this role, the intern will help to perform a broad range of services and will work in a combined clinical, teaching and research environment. This position will primarily provide first opinion and referral equine clinical services under the supervision of specialist clinicians and equine academics, and will also assist in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate students through demonstration and practical instruction. 
 

The person

Applicants should have completed BVSc, DVM or equivalent qualification, registrable in Queensland, together with strong equine clinical skills and the ability to contribute to undergraduate teaching.

Remuneration

There is a full-time, fixed term position at Clinical Academic level A, increment 1. The current remuneration package for this level is $64,533.50 p.a. plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be $70,664.18).
