We wish to appoint a Consultant Senior Lecturer in Public Health Medicine to join the Centre for Public Health based in Population Health Sciences within Bristol Medical School (BMS) in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Bristol. The service commitment will be based at the Public Health and Wellbeing Division, South Gloucestershire Local Authority. The post holder will split their time equally between the two functions of the joint post.

This new post represents an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic academic Public Health consultant, with a significant national research reputation in Public Health and
Epidemiology, to join a well-established team of researchers within a leading centre for population health sciences. Population Health Sciences at the University of Bristol has an outstanding track record in public health, epidemiological and health services research, and provides a stimulating environment for academics at all stages of their careers.

This is part of an initiative to increase senior research capacity at the Centre for Public Health at the University of Bristol. The centre is a leading centre of excellence in research into the health of the population with the aim of promoting and protecting health and wellbeing, preventing ill health and reducing health inequalities. This includes work on a range of policy topics including obesity, physical activity, nutrition, sexual health, mental health and wellbeing, tobacco, alcohol and drugs misuse.
