Job Purpose

The role will involve acquiring functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) brain imaging data and flow-mediated dilatation (FMD) data to test the efficacy of a well-defined flavanol-rich dietary intervention on brain vascular health in healthy participants.The role holder will create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by undertaking a specified range of activities within the research project.

Person Specification

This project will use gold-standard measures of brain vascular health as well as peripheral vascular health to assess the efficacy of a dietary intervention enriched in flavanols in healthy volunteers.

The candidate requires a background in physiology and measures of brain vascular health, such as MRI, Doppler and/or fNIRS to measure brain function. They should hold a First degree in the area of Sport and Exercise Sciences or Psychology. They should have , or soon to achieve, a PhD in a relevant area.
