Chemical Legislation Specialist - Oxford

As a Regulatory Specialist within chemical legislation, you will be working across a diverse product range and act as the main point of contact concerning REACh MSDS, GHS, and Classification and Labelling. For REACH in particular, the complexity of the tasks, tstay on top of legislation developments and its implementation

Primary Roles:

Contribute to and lead activities within the Chemical Legislation Team in order to secure REACH compliance

REACH REGISTRATIONS: Responsible for External manufacturing Compliance activities and checks for co formulants, intermediates and process solvents

FORMULATION APPROVAL: Review co formulants REACH compliance and grant REACH internal approval for new EU formulations

BLOCKS MANAGEMENT: Internal REACH Product approval process steward, the incumbent will check import volumes and compositions and will manage and resolve internal REACH import blocks

REACH SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT FOR SEEDS ACTIVITIES: The incumbent will work on Industry position with regards to the REACH impact on seeds business and materials

REACH SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT FOR NANOMATERIALS: The incumbent will interact at Industry level with the relevant working groups and will keep up to date on nanomaterials legislation needs

Contribute to avoid any business disruption in EU by securing substance REACH compliance

Support External manufacturing sites to identify and comply on site with REACH requirements, and to succeed in any eventual REACH related audit.

The candidate must be an empathetic listener with strong customer focus skills. Good communication skills, self motivated and well organised but also an effective team player. Good attention to detail. Proficient in MS office (especially Word and Excel). Knowledge of SAP (ECC, SVT) and experience in data bases SAGE, PTIP will be valued.

Qualifications

Preferred Chemistry University Degree Chemical Engineer also to be considered

Job information and working conditions (preferred experiences, language requirements, travel requirements, work schedule options)

Preferred 4-8 years of Chemical Legislation regulatory experience at EU level, and specifically strong knowledge of REACH procedures and requirements.

Total fluency in English is a must

The incumbent will travel across EMEA region when required (estimated 15-30 days / year)
