AQUATIC ECOLOGIST AT MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE. 

The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology with a focus in aquatic ecology to begin in fall 2019.  Applicants should have a Ph.D., postdoctoral experience or its equivalent, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in both teaching and research.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach at the introductory level (ecology and evolution), upper level aquatic ecology, biological statistics, and an upper level discipline-specific course.  The candidate will occasionally contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings.  The successful candidate is also expected to establish an active research program with aspects that are adaptable, but not necessarily exclusive, to the Northeast.  The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the growing diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, scholarship, and service.  Demonstration of evidence-based inclusive pedagogy, mentoring, and advising a diverse population of students is essential.
