Job Details

We seek a Senior Research Associate / Research Fellow in statistics, level of appointment depending on qualifications and experience. This is a position with 3 years of funding involving two research projects on mother-to-child transmission of infection. The first is an international multi-centre study on mother-to-child transmission of zika and other mosquito-borne viruses, and the consequences for the fetus and child. An additional area of work is on the incidence and prevalence of these infections, and evaluation of diagnostic tests for them. The post-holder will have a further role of providing statistical advice to other members of the consortium. The second project concerns the possible role of direct acting antivirals in preventing mother-to-child transmission of Hepatitis C virus. The work requires a statistician with experience and an understanding of Bayesian data analysis, with excellent maths and computing skills, with experience in medical statistics, and an understanding of the principles of epidemiology.
