The School of Chemical Engineering is an international leader in the chemical engineering field and has an excellent reputation, built over many decades at The University of Queensland. Worldwide, UQ Chemical Engineering was ranked 33rd in the QS World University Rankings 2017 for chemical engineering.  We also received the highest score for chemical engineering in Australia in the Excellence in Research for Australia study (2015). The role

The successful appointee will undertake ground-breaking research leading to the discovery and understanding of the microbial processes responsible for the nitrous oxide production in wastewater treatment process. The position will also play an important role in the development of novel technologies based on the fundamental discoveries.

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering, or thesis submitted before the start date of the position. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career in biological wastewater treatment, good general research skills, a strong methodological background, excellent laboratory skills, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $75,557 - $81,545p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $88,401 - $95,408p.a.).
