The new Library Readiness project is contained within the University’s ambitious and exciting Campus Heart Programme and is the partner project to our new library build. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and coordinate the workstreams necessary to ensure that when the doors open on the new Library, the service provided to students and staff and the operation of the library mirrors the impressive nature of the new building itself.

Managing the project through delivery to project completion, you will apply your project management skills to bring together and ensure delivery from a disparate set of workstreams which will include but not be limited to:

  • Development of the library services operating model for the new library including Operations
  • Review and rationalisation of Collections
  • Staff and Student engagement
  • Teaching, Learning and Research
  • Digital systems
  • Arrival & welcome

 

Liaison and communication are vital elements of this role and in particular you will draft and manage internal communications around the project for a diverse range of audiences and you’ll work closely with senior university colleagues and project sponsors, the University’s Estates Division and external appointed architects and engineers.

You will have a significant number of years’ relevant experience, including experience of a large, complex public sector or similar environment. You will have a strong general project background, well-proven project management skills, a sound knowledge of project management tools and methodologies gained on strategically important, multi-faceted, complex and high-profile projects. You’ll be committed to ensuring that results are planned and delivered with the full engagement and commitment of all staff. You will also be able to collate, analyse and report on a range of data for a range of audiences. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work and communicate well with a wide range of staff in a rapidly changing environment are essential.

The post is available on an open ended, fixed funded basis to 30th Sept 2021 with a start date as soon as possible. For project critical reasons successful candidates must be available not more than 3 months from offer and ideally sooner.
