The position will ideally suit someone with an aptitude for an interest in a career in Finance who is looking for a challenging role and to gain valuable experience. The post will support a combination of research and non-research finance and administration, following complex legal and financial guidelines, and will support the Assistant Accountants with all aspects of the role including; costing applications, setting up processes for new awards, reporting on the funds for active grants, calculating staff cost allocations to grants, extensive communication with external stakeholders, frequent reviews of budgets following exchange rate movements, and working with academics and researchers to maximise cost recovery. 

You should be well organized, analytical and self motivated, with excellent communication skills, a working knowledge of Excel, and some accounting knowledge. An interest in pursuing a financial qualification is desirable, support for which is available on a competitive basis.  You will use the University accounting systems for which training will be provided.

Starting Salary From £19,850 (Spinal point 13 on the Grade 2b salary scale).
