Experimental Officer (Additive Manufacturing Laboratory)

Job Details

You will develop and contribute to advances on the forefront of additive manufacturing that will benefit society and advance manufacturing and materials technology. Your work will feed into our diverse range of focus areas including: renewable energy, lightweight and composite structures, nonlinear dynamics and hydrodynamics, offshore structures and ocean engineering.

To be successful you will need a strong background and expertise in hardware/software control, programming, and powder bed additive manufacturing technology. You will hold a PhD or equivalent in mechatronics, control, robotics, automation, manufacturing systems or similar area.

You will join a leading Engineering Faculty with an excellent record of collaborative research with industry and academic institutions in the UK and abroad. The Faculty offers exceptional research facilities in the areas of fluids, structures and their interactions, including a new world-class fluid dynamics facilities complex in the Boldrewood Engineering Campus, complete with a 138m towing tank.
