Postdoc position: Synthesis, Characterization and Testing of Innovative Nanomaterials

The Excellence Research Center ICCRAM (http://wwww.ubu.es/iccram) has a 12 month PostDoc vacancy for the synthesis, characterization and testing under extreme conditions of novel nanostructured alloys for its application in aerospace sector. On the other hand, the candidate will be involved in different research lines such as innovative materials for energy conversion and storage, solid-state route to nanomaterial and structural, microstructural and morphological characterisation. The PostDoc candidate will participate in different H2020 projects collaborating with scientists across Europe.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines. Good knowledge of solid-state and we chemistry synthesis routes (high-energy ball milling, SHS, hydrothermal etc), annealing processes and recognized experience with the most classical and advanced analytical technique primarily used for phase identifications and microstructural/morphological characterization of crystalline and nanostructured materials (XRD, ssNMR; Raman, µSR, XPS, AFM, SEM, HRTEM, EDAX EELS, and related spectroscopy). Basic experience is also expected in calculation of phase diagrams and thermodynamic properties (thermo-calc).

• Capacity to work in a team, flexibility, willing to carry out international research stays and research motivation and enthusiasm.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Broad experience, published articles, participation in European projects.
• 4 years postdoc experience

Term of employment:

This unique position is open immediately for qualified applicants which will be guaranteed a competitive salary. The expected beginning of the contract: September 1st. The period of employment is 1 years, with option of extension.
