As deel van sy strategiese ontwikkelingsplan werf die Universiteit Stellenbosch Bestuurskool (USB) tans voltydse akademiese personeel. Die Skool is een van die voorste verskaffers

van internasionaal geakkrediteerde programme in Suid-Afrika.

Die Skool is internasionaal by AACSB, EQUIS en AMBA geakkrediteer, 'n prestasie wat slegs 'n paar bestuurskole in die wêreld kon behaal.

 

Navorsing geniet hoë prioriteit en USB is besig om klusters vir internasionale navorsing te ontwikkel wat tersaaklik is vir sy visie om “globaal erken te word as dié sakekennisvennoot in

Afrika”.

Senior Lecturer: Quantitative Methods

As part of a strategic growth plan, the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) is seeking to recruit full-time faculty members. The School has established itself as one of the top

providers of internationally accredited programmes in South Africa.

The School enjoys the status of full-term AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA international accreditations, an accomplishment attained by only a few business schools in the world.

 

Research is a particular priority for the School and USB is building clusters of international research relevant to its vision of being “globally distinguished as the business knowledge partner

in Africa.

Hence applicants with a solid research track record and potential have an advantage.

 

The advertised position is available at Senior Lecturer level.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ontwikkel en lewer akademiese inhoud op die gebied van kwantitatiewe metodes (Statistiek en Operasionele Navorsing) in die PhD-, MPhil- en nagraadse diploma-programme;

  • Bied studieleiding in nagraadse navorsing op PhD-, MBA- en MPhil-vlak;

  • Lewer bydrae tot navorsing en publiseer navorsingsresultate in geakkrediteerde,hoë-impak-, internasionale tydskrifte;

  • Deelname aan die administrasie en bestuur van departementele aktiwiteite;

  • Deelname aan USB se sosiale-impak-aktiwiteite.

 

  • Developing and delivering academic content in quantitative methods (Statistics and Operational Research) on the MBA, MPhil and Postgraduate Diploma programmes;

  • Supervising postgraduate research at PhD, MBA and MPhil levels;

  • Contributing to research and publishing research results in accredited, high-impact international journals;

  • Participating in the administration and management of departmental activities;

  • Participating in social impact activities of the USB.

 

Person Specification

  • ’n PhD of 'n MBA behaal aan 'n internasionaal geakkrediteerde Bestuurskool;

  • In die geval van 'n MBA, 'n verbintenis om 'n PhD op die gebied van Besigheidsbestuur en/of Kwantitatiewe Metodes te behaal;

  • Bewese aktiewe en voortgesette studie op navorsings- en onderriggebied, asook verdere ontwikkelingspotensiaal;

  • 'n Mate van ervaring in die onderrig van Statistiek en/of Operasionele Navorsing;

  • Bewys van bestaande industrienetwerke;

  • Bedrewe in onderrig- en leertegnologieë.

 

  • PhD or MBA from an internationally accredited Business School;

  • In the case of an MBA, a commitment to pursue a PhD in the area of Business Management and/or Quantitative Methods;

  • Evidence of active and continuous scholarship in both research and teaching, together with further development potential;

  • Some experience in teaching Statistics and/or Operations Research;

 

  • Evidence of industry networks;

  • Proficiency in teaching and learning technologies.

 

  • Industrie-ervaring in die toepassing van kwantitatiewe metodes vir bestuursbesluitneming;

  • Ervaring in ’n senior leierskaprol en bereidwilligheid om 'n akademiese leierskaprol te speel;

  • Beduidende onderrigervaring op nagraadse vlak;

  • Ervaring in studieleiding van nagraadse studente;

  • Ervaring in die gebruik van adaptiewe sagteware;

  • Uitgebreide industrienetwerke.

 

  • Industry experience in the application of quantitative methods for management decision-making;

  • Senior leadership experience and willingness to act in an academic leadership role;

  • Significant experience in teaching at postgraduate level;

  • Experience in supervising postgraduate students;

  • Experience in the use of adaptive software;

  • Extensive industry networks.
