SITS Developer

We are seeking an experienced SITS Developer to play a significant role in the delivery of this Project.

The post holder will play a key role during project implementation, applying their understanding of the capabilities of SITS to help develop a system solution which delivers a consistent and high-quality process across the entire admissions lifecycle. The post holder will be required to work closely with the project team, University stakeholders and the supplier to ensure that the solution is delivered according to the specification requirements.

 

Essential

• Extensive knowledge and experience of managing complex data systems and data products.The possession of a degree would be useful in demonstrating a level of intellectual capability but is not a prerequisite for this role.
• Methodical and meticulous approach to managing large and complex systems and a demonstrable ability to understand how these deliver the processes they support and how these interrelate.
• Excellent interpersonal skills given that the job requires the post holder to communicate and collaborate with staff across different parts of the University and also external to the University.
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve system support to underpin an effective and efficient admissions processes and, working with colleagues both within and outside the Admissions Office, implement improvements within the scope of the project.
• Excellent communication skills in order to maintain regular and meaningful communication with colleagues across the University at various different levels.
• Demonstrable evidence of exhibiting the values and behaviours consistent with the University and External Relations frameworks.

 

Essential SITS experience

• Expertise in SRL syntax.
• Experience in writing and updating Standard Letters (SRL).
• Expertise in Tasking and Generic Data Maintenance.
• E:Vision experience in setting up container pages, containers, user role groups.
• Javascript, in particular the jQuery framework.
• Bootstrap 3.

 

Desirable

• To have an understanding of the admissions process in higher education and experience of working closely with colleagues from a range of specialism across the University.
• Knowledge of IPP data setup.
• Knowledge of SITS Admissions data setup.
• Knowledge of SITS person & user Data setup.
• Knowledge of the XIPP transfer process that transfers data from IPP across to SITS Admissions.
• Experience working with the e:Vision & IPP ‘skeleton files’ used to generate page templates. The Admissions Office is currently enhancing the Tribal SITS/E-vision product to deliver a step change for processing applications for a range of routes.
