The role/s

The School is seeking lecturers to teach into one or more of the undergraduate core law courses, which are mandated as ‘Prescribed Areas of Knowledge’ required for admission to legal practice. We have particular needs in Property, Equity and Trusts and Civil Procedure. We also have needs in commercial law and taxation.

Academics must demonstrate a capacity to engage in quality, original research in the field of law with a demonstrated capability to develop a program of high quality research with the potential for national and international recognition and impact. Academic staff are encouraged to seek competitive funding for research through national, international competitive grant schemes and/or industry or government partnerships.  

The role/s will report to the Dean of Law.

 

The person

Applicants to the Teaching and Research positions must have a legal qualification or equivalent in a related discipline. A PhD is desirable. They should demonstrate a commitment to engagement in learning and teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and the development of innovative course and program material for effective learning practices in the context of the discipline; and demonstrate a capability to develop a program of high quality research with the potential for national and international recognition and impact. For more senior levels of appointment they also need to demonstrate a strong publishing record through books, scholarly monographs, articles in reputable refereed law journals, or other high-quality publications. Applicants would be expected to engage in service and engagement activities, through representative roles, supporting the School, Faculty and/or University as requested by the Head of School.

 

Seminar

Applicants invited for interview may be expected to present a seminar in conjunction with the selection interview process.

Remuneration

All positions are full-time continuing appointments. The remuneration package inclusive of employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% will be in the range ($75,504 - $102,416 - Level A); ($107,807 - $128,020 - Level B); ($132,063 - $152,277 - Level C) and ($159,014 - $175,186 - Level D).
