Job Details

The post-holder will be a member of the College of Arts and Law’s Taught Programmes Management Team. Members of the team ensure that the College’s taught programmes administration service is developed and maintained in line with the College’s aims and objectives. This requires members of the team to be flexible in their responsibilities.

The post-holder will oversee the delivery of taught programme administration and support within one or more Schools within the College. This will involve managing teams of College professional Services support staff who are principally engaged in taught programme administration and proactively developing/promoting best practice and new ways of working. The post-holder will also have responsibility for agreed areas of taught programme operational support within the College.

The post-holder will be educated to degree level and/or hold an equivalent qualification and/or have considerable equivalent professional experience in relevant roles, in particular demonstrating knowledge/experience/capability in the following areas:

  • Team management, progressing team development and building capability.
  • Developing and managing service delivery capability to high standards.
  • Reviewing and shaping service delivery, preferably within higher education.
  • Evaluating work, analysing the benefits, costs and risks of alternative scenarios.
  • Prioritising and balancing workloads across teams.
  • Independently identifying and developing solutions to complex problems.
  • Analysing, understanding, formatting and presenting numerical information.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adherence to Data Protection Law in all areas of work.

 

The post-holder should be able to demonstrate and/or evidence the following:

  • High levels of interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels both orally and in writing.
  • A high degree of accuracy with written English and numerical data.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to work in a collaborative team environment and to be flexible about responsibilities.
  • IT literacy with demonstrable proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Operational knowledge of the development and use of databases.
  • The ability to develop and implement administrative procedures within a complex operating environment.
  • Experience of understanding and presenting statistical information.
  • The ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable in busy periods.
