The Energy Storage group at the Advanced Materials for Energy Area of IREC announces a project postdoc position available for a highly motivated candidate to work in a H2020 project (LCE08 call) in the field of synthetic fuel production.
The candidate will be involved in catalyst synthesis and evaluation in a lab scale Fischer Tropsch reactor. The candidate will carry out catalyst characterization and optimization at IREC laboratories, as well as developing strategies for upscaling the catalyst synthesis routes developed within the project. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in the setup and experimental investigation by using a wire mesh reactor of char gasification kinetics and biomass pyrolysis.
Candidate must have a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering and preferably have completed a doctorate in a related field: heterogenerous catalysis or synthetic fuel production. Additionally, must have a good level of spoken and written English language.
CV must additionally reflect candidate’s motivation and experience on characterisation techniques, gas and liquid analysis for reaction monitoring, reaction simulation tools (MATLAB, ASPEN, COMSOL,…) and writing technical project deliverables.
Candidates should be available for starting by 6th September.
