Duties and responsibilities:
Inherent requirements:
Lecturer:
- Master’s degree in Social Work.
- Registration at the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- Proven experience in the delivery of presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
- Proven experience in social work education or presentation of workshops.
- Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication in accredited journals.
- A good academic record.
- A valid driver’s license.
Senior Lecturer:
Required competencies:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to function with ease in the University’s richly diverse working environment.
- Organisational skills to coordinate modules with large student numbers.
- Excellent computer skills.
Recommendations:
Lecturer:
- PhD in Social Work or willingness to enrol for a doctoral degree in Social Work at the first available opportunity.
- Excellent academic research record.
- One (1) year’s proven experience in Generic Social Work.
- One (1) year’s proven experience of teaching at University level or field instruction of final year social work students.
Senior Lecturer
- One (1) year’s proven experience in Generic Social Work.
- One (1) year’s proven experience of teaching at University level or field instruction of final year social work students.
Assumption of duties:
1 January 2019.
