Job Details
The post holder will work with a Mr Angus McNair (NIHR Clinician Scientist) to deliver a project on new types of surgery. You will use systematic review methodology to identify new types of surgery, and perform an analysis of the outcome selection, measurement and reporting in published studies. You will then administer questionnaires to participants nationally to gain consensus on an agreed standard of outcome measurement. This is known as a core outcome set.
This post provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in working with a team of multi-disciplinary collaborators on specific research questions and to contribute to the design of future studies linked to the Biomedical Research Centre Bristol surgical innovation theme, culminating in peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. The successful applicant will be able to continue training in relevant aspects of health services research by taking advantage of the short courses run by the school.
This is a part-time post (0.6 FTE) for 18 months
