The School of Physics is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide excellent customer service and administrative support to its many staff and students.

This role will be based in a busy school office and day to day duties will include welcoming and directing visitors, arranging meetings and catering, dealing with cash and post, stocking printers and copiers, filing, photocopying, printing, compiling and formatting documents, data entry, and managing the staff common room. A key aspect of the job is to assist with the running and co-ordination of our student visit and open days, which includes being a friendly and welcoming presence front of house. You will also be required to prepare documents for meetings and take minutes as required.

A good knowledge of software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and calendar is essential, as is a good knowledge of the organisational requirements of a busy office. Any experience of running events and updating social media and/or websites would be an advantage.

A positive, cheerful attitude, with self-confidence, strong communication skills and the ability to use your initiative are essential.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 13th September. Please note, you will be considered for the Administrative Assistant posts in both Physics (SUPP104409) and Chemistry (SUPP104411) unless you specify otherwise.
