Faculty of Medicine

The University of Queensland’s Faculty of Medicine is an internationally recognised provider of world-class education and research. The research-intensive Faculty has a gross budget of almost $300 million, employs approximately 1000 continuing and fixed-term staff (headcount), has a community of more than 4000 non-salaried academic appointees and around 3200 students (headcount).

The Faculty of Medicine offers Australia’s largest medical degree program for graduates and school-leavers. Undergraduate and postgraduate programs are available in the disciplines of Medicine, Health Sciences, E-Health, Mental Health, Biomedical Sciences and Public Health.

 

The role

The Scholarship and Awards Coordinator manages the scholarships and awards portfolio. The position will oversee the administration of awards including the establishment of new awards, the management of selection processes, advertising, recommendation procedures, and will serve as the primary liaison between Central University organisational units and the Faculty for the purposes of scholarship and award administration.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a degree qualification coupled with direct experience in a closely related discipline such as student and academic administration or donor stewardship. The successful applicant should have an understanding of philanthropy, its applicability to universities or equivalent and deomonstrated experience in project management. You should also have excellent communication skills, display significant initiative and judegment and the ability to meet deadlines.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $74,207 - $79,964 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $86,822 - $93,558 p.a.).
