Candidates are sought for a research only appointment in Physiotherapy, between the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Queensland and the Princess Alexandra Hospital Health Service District. The School through its Division of Physiotherapy, is the leading provider of undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy education in Queensland. The Princess Alexandra Hospital is a major teaching hospital providing comprehensive services to meet primary, secondary and tertiary adult referrals from both within and outside the region. The hospital has all major medical specialties except obstetrics and also has multiple tertiary rehabilitation facilities including a Spinal Injuries Unit, Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit and Geriatric Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit.

 

The role

In the role of Research Fellow in Physiotherapy you will be expected to plan, administer, undertake and publish clinically based research activities under the direction of the Head, Division of Physiotherapy, University of Queensland and the Director, Physiotherapy Services, Princess Alexandra Hospital. The position also involves supervision of physiotherapy honours, masters and PhD students who are undertaking research at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

 

The person

Candidates should possess a primary qualification in Physiotherapy and be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency on commencing the position. You should hold a PhD or be nearing completion of a PhD. Candidates must have experience in an area that is relevant to work done at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Postdoctoral experience is highly desirable and preference will be given to candidates with established research records. Broad general clinical experience will also be highly regarded. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with staff and students are essential.

Remuneration

This is a full-time fixed term appointment at Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,142.74 - $109,419.20 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807.00 - $128,020.46 p.a.).
