Job Details
The Division of Landscape Architecture offers undergraduate, taught postgraduate and research postgraduate degrees in landscape architecture. The Division has gained international recognition for its design-focused, transdisciplinary engagement with complex social and environmental issues in China and the emerging economies of Southeast Asia, with particular focus on technology-led landscape research, teaching and critical practice. Information about the Department/Division can be obtained at http://www.arch.hku.hk/ and via the Division's yearbook, http://www.arch.hku.hk/media/upload/2017_HKU_landscape_BOOK.pdf.
The Division seeks an experienced academic to build and deliver a strategic research and pedagogical vision that leverages ongoing initiatives, creates an intellectually stimulating work environment, and fosters research and teaching practices that engage across disciplines, with industry and the wider community. Applicants should have proven management skills, and show evidence of substantive contributions to University/departmental level missions and services. The appointee is expected to focus on academic development, and will work alongside the current administrative roles within the Division.
Applicants should have attained high academic standing and possess an established scholarship record that incorporates elements of research, teaching and critical practice at an internationally recognized level. They should hold a professional degree in landscape architecture, a doctorate in landscape architecture or a related field, and preferably licensure from an internationally recognized professional institute.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
The University thanks applicants for their interest, but advises that only candidates shortlisted for interviews will be notified of the application result.
