Job Details

The School of Physics is looking for a teaching associate to support and assist in a range of undergraduate teaching activities, including small group tutorials, workshops, laboratory and computing demonstrating. This position will include, but not be limited to, supervising, marking and moderating experimental and computer-based laboratory exercises, tutorials and small group workshops as well as exam marking. Ideally the teaching associate will have experience of experimental techniques relevant for student laboratory experiments for third year physics MSci undergraduates. There may be limited teaching duties at more advanced undergraduate levels. Opportunities to give some undergraduate lectures overseen by other academic staff may be available, although this is not the core focus of the role.

The post is funded until 30th June 2019.

Both the School and University are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive working environment. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities, especially from women and other groups currently under-represented in academic posts.

Due to the short amount of time between advertising and the anticipated start date of this post, we will be unable to proceed with any applicants who require sponsorship for a work visa.  Interviews are expected to be held on Friday 14th September.

Informal enquiries may be made to: Dr Andy Young, andy.young@bristol.ac.uk

The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
