Senior Assistant Officer (post level 12) (contract appointment: 8 months)

Duties and responsibilities:
- Perform general office administration.
- Responsible for data management of classes and students
- Arrange classes between facilitators and grant holders.
- Liaise with staff, students and stakeholders.
- Handle general students, staff and FASSET queries.
- Responsible for meeting administration.
- Assist with project management.
- Assist with FASSET timetable.
- Assist students with their challenges regarding social, emotional and study demands.
Inherent requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Economic and Management Sciences.
- Two (2) years relevant administration experience within the university working environment.
Recommendations:
- Proven experience working with students in a tertiary environment.
- Proven experience working with the FASSET Seta.
Required competencies
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to function with ease in the university`s richly diverse working environment.
- Meticulous attention to details and commitment to a high standard of work.
- Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PeopleSoft and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan effectively.
- Ability to work independently, and within a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Operational thoroughness.
- The ability to be a mentor for students.
Assumption of duties: As soon as possible.
