Job Details
As Senior Teaching Associate in Modern American History you will carry out teaching and associated scholarship and administrative responsibilities to the highest standard and will have expertise in modern American history. You will have PhD in History or a cognate discipline either completed or near completion.
You will be expected to teach at least some of the following units: ‘Slavery' (First year Option unit), ‘Violence and Slavery in the American South' (2nd year Special Field), ‘Comparative American Slavery' (3rd year Lecture Response Unit), ‘Describing Difference: Race, Culture and Ethnicity' (3rd year Reflective History Unit). You will also be expected to act as unit co-ordinator for the first year Option unit ‘The American Century', to supervise undergraduate dissertations, and to undertake other teaching as appropriate.
