The role

The successful candidate will work in close collaboration the School's highly successful photonics and microwave engineering research group with close links to industry. Working with the Professor in Photonics and other senior staff in the school and in collaboration with UQ's other faculties and institutes, you will help expand the world-class research programs in the design and application of state-of-the-art THz imaging and spectroscopy systems based on THz quantum-cascade lasers.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in Electrical engineering, experimental physics or related field. You should have significant experience and a successful record of research achievements in terahertz photonics with demonstrated high quality outputs.

You should have a national or international research reputation with strong networks to leverage to assist in developing a world class program of research with demonstrated impact. You should demonstrate your ability to contribute to research or lead significant teams, attract significant external funding, and capacity to work collaboratively across discipline boundaries. You should be an experienced and engaging teacher and have mastery of current pedagogy in engineering.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment available at Academic Level C, or Level D. Appointment level will be commensurate to qualifications and experience.

The remuneration package for Level C will be in the range $112,874 - $130,150 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $132,063 - $152,276 per annum).

The remuneration package for Level D will be in the range $135,909 - $149,731 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $159,014 - $175,185 per annum).
