Job Details
This position is to work on an ESRC-funded research project to study competing statistical methods for measuring school performance using pupil-level test score data. The successful applicant will work closely with Dr George Leckie and Professor Harvey Goldstein carrying out a wide range of applied data analysis, simulation studies, and authoring journal articles.
Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in a quantitative social science or in applied statistics and a track record of publishing in academic journals. Very strong quantitative research methods skills and experience of analysing large datasets using statistical software such as Stata or R are essential. Experience in simulating data and developing/extending statistical methods would be an advantage.
It is expected that interviews will be held in November 2018. The proposed start date is 3 January 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Dr George Leckie (e-mail: g.leckie@bristol.ac.uk).
